Recently Released Critical Drivers - Read Only.Recently Released Service Tips - Read Only.Last month I was thinking of upgrading to the Carbon X1 8th gen, but having faced this lack of service from Lenovo, I will never do this. I am extremely frustrated by Lenovo's denial of this issue, despite the overwhelming amount of users reporting lose of HDMI or USB-C port. I have read in many posts that users had to send their notebook to Lenodo and they replaced the motherboard entirely (which apparently fixed the matter).īut the problem is if your notebook is out of warranted, like mine, Lenovo does not take any responsibility for the damage it has caused! It seems that Lenovo's automatic update (Vantage) has damaged something in the system that cannot be fixed by these software remedies. Lenovo has acknowledged this defect and asked its users to update their Thunderbolt driver/firmware here: īut the problem is that, while the Thunderbolt diver can be installed, the firmware driver cannot it say " No Active Thunderbolt Controller found in the System" trying all the Thunderbolt Security options in BIOS, or enabling/disabling the Thunderbolt Assist resetting the notebook physically with a paper clip rolling back the VGA driver (Intel UHD Graphics 620) rolling back the BIOS to every single previous version ( from 1.36 to 1.48) I have tried all these options to no avail: I have had the same issue with my Carbon X1 6th gen for over a month now, and nothing works!
